The Private Security Authority, which was established pursuant to the Private Security Services Act 2004, is the statutory body with responsibility for licensing and regulating the private security industry in Ireland.

The Authority is independent in the exercise of its functions. The Board of the Authority, chaired by Mr. Ronan King, consists of representatives of the legal profession, private security employers and employees, An Garda Siochána and relevant government departments and agencies.



CHANGES TO EMPLOYEE ACKNOWLEDGEMENT LETTERS

Since the 1st July 2010 the Authority has changed the conditions under which acknowledgement letters issue for employee applications.

Renewal Of Employee Licences

In order to receive your new licence in advance of the expiry of your current licence, you should lodge your renewal application 28 days before your licence expires.

OR

you can text the word PSA followed by your licence number to 53377 and we will arrange for a pack to be posted to you.

The Authority will not be acknowledging receipt of renewal applications.
