    Private Security (Exemption) Order 2007

     The Private Security Authority in accordance with Section 3(3) of the Private Security Services Act, 2004 (No.12 of 2004) hereby gives notice of the following exemptions issued under the Private Security (Exemption) Order 2007.

    These exemptions are issued to Contractors in order to obtain Standard EN50131 which is required for licensing.

      These Guidelines are issued to assist the Authority in reaching a determination on licence applications. They have been published by the Authority for the information of applicants and licence holders. It should be noted that these are guidelines only and the Authority is not bound by them.
    • 15/02/2012   High Compliance found during Door Security Inspections carried out by the PSA and An Garda Siochana during Rag Week in Cork
      On 9th February 2012, Inspectors from the Private Security Authority (PSA) in conjunction with An Garda Siochana carried out a number of late night inspections of door supervisor (licensed premises) services in Cork City which took place during Rag Week.
    • 23/01/2012   Publican in Meath Prosecuted by the Private Security Authority
      20 January 2012: Noel Leavy of Noel Leavy & Co. Limited, The Square, Oldcastle, Co Meath was found guilty today of employing unlicensed door supervisors. Judge McMahon convicted Noel Leavy of breaching the Private Security Services Acts, 2004 and 2011. Fines and costs totalling €2,300 were imposed on Mr Leavy.
    • 20/01/2012   Excellent compliance with Licensing and ID Badge Requirements by Security Guarding staff in Dublin
      On 15, 16 and 17 January 2012, Inspectors from the Private Security Authority (PSA) carried out a number of inspections of security guard (static) services in Dublin 1. The purpose of these inspections is to ensure that only those licensed by the PSA are operating and that individuals are wearing a clearly visible identity badge as legally required.
